MONSTER'S Rodrigo Ampudia Claims Victory in his MONSTER ENERGY/ Papas n Beer/ Pro Lite #36
4:09 PM UPDATE - Marty Hart jumped at the green flag and took the lead right off the start. Todd Cuffaro held his line tight to Hart and maintained the second spot until the 8th lap when he spun out coming into the start/ finish losing four positions.
Rob MacCachren jumped into the #7 Menzies Motorsports Pro Lite and got back on the track only a lap down. Bryce Menzies started the race and passed five trucks on the first lap before handing the truck over to his teammate and mentor.
Rodrigo Ampudia, driving the #36 MONSTER/Papas n Beer Pro Lite went high in turn three, flying up and over the k-rail. Ampudia made it back on the lead lap and had to pass the entire field to take the win. Ampudia's strategy and determination helped him make his way up to the leaders. Coming out of the Bowl in turn 4 Ampudia must have had a boost of MONSTER as he flew out and past Hart and Naughton who were battling for the lead. Rodrigo never looked back as he raced to the checkered flag for his first win of the season!!!!
Controversy in Pomona as Pro 4 Leaders get taken out by Black Flags
3:15 PM UPDATE - Rick Huseman charged hard from the start of the race and passes Curt Leduc on the second lap. Huseman is raging out there in his FABTECH/ MONSTER/ Toyo Tires Toyota Pro 4 looking for a win here in Pomona. Huseman led to the mandatory caution as Kyle Leduc and Carl Renezeder fought for second.
Huseman, Renezeder and Kyle Leduc continued to battle all going back and forth for the lead until Kyle Leduc pulled off the track as he lost his right rear drive shaft. Renezeder and Huseman continued to fight for the lead as they made contact coming into turn #5. The contact sent Renezeder sideways and CORR Officials black flagged Rick Huseman for hitting Carl Renezeder as the entire stands "Boo'd" the call.
Huseman led one more lap until pulling into the pits and serving his penalty. With one lap to go Curt Leduc also received a black flag. It looks as if the CORR officials want to keep the field away from Carl Renezeder. Renezeder is known to many drivers to be a 'rough driver'. We all saw in the 2007 CORR Finals in Primm, Nevada as Renezeder slammed into Johnny Greaves taking him out of the lead and went on to win the race. The entire Primm audience 'Boo'd' Renezeder as he accepted his trophy.
The #4 Traxxas truck that was loaned to Johnny Greaves for this race was driven by Dan VandenHuevel. Dan got comfortable in the Pro 2 race and was grinning from ear to ear when he had the chance to get behind the wheel of a Pro 4. VandenHuevel told us earlier that his ultimate goal in his racing career is to be behind the wheel of a Pro 4 and show the field what he can do, today he got his first opportunity.
Scott Douglas stayed clear of the carnage and controversy today and charged hard on the last few laps to take the win here in Pomona, California. Douglas learned from his black flag during yesterday's race due to rough driving and stayed out of the mess today in his Amsoil/ Kumho Tires/ FOX Shox Pro 4 #7.
Rob MacCachren Pulls Double Victories in CORR at the Fairplex in Pomona, California
2:50 PM UPDATE - Rob MacCachren brings the #21 Menzies Motorsports/ Rockstart Energy Pro 2 to victory lane once again. MacCachren, who started in the 4th row stayed strong until the mandatory caution came out. At the caution Rob MacCachren was fighting for fifth position with Carl Renezeder and knew that he had to make his move on the restart.
Todd Leduc had his hands full trying to keep his eyes on Ricky Johnson, Scott Taylor went low in turn three as the rest of the field went high and Taylor jumped off the track. That's when Rob Mac made his move, Rob found a perfect line in between the mess and went for it. He never looked back until he saw the checkered flag.
Rob will now get in the Menzies Motorsports Pro Lite to take over the driving duties for teammate Bryce Menzies. Menzies will start in his #7 Pro Lite and complete one lap and then turn the driving duties to Rob MacCachren.
Ricky Johnson Leads at Mandatory Caution
2:37 PM UPDATE - Ricky Johnson didn't take long to make a move on Greg Adler for the lead. The mandatory caution is out and Ricky Johnson's right rear brake is ON FIRE. Johnson has to pull off the side of the track as track workers try to get it out. RJ pulled back onto the track and the fire ignited instantly. Ricky Johnson was given the opportunity to go into the hot pits but he chose to keep his lead and stay in front, even though his brakes are on fire.
At the end of Lap 1 Johnny Greaves pulled into the pits and it took a little longer than they expected to change drivers. Dan VandenHuevel is now in the truck and trying to gain positions.
There is a little confusion between Carl Renezeder and Rob MacCachren regarding their position at the caution. CORR calls that MacCachren take 5th and Renezeder 6th.
At the caution it's:
Johnson
Leduc
Adler
Taylor
MacCachren
Renezeder
McGrath
Ampudia
Cenni
Greg Adler & Ricky Johnson to Start Front Row in Pro 2 Main Event
2:15 PM UPDATE - Greg Adler, who qualified in the 8th position in today's Round 10 qualifier will start on the front row. After CORR's random inversion Adler got the lucky draw and will start in front next to Ricky Johnson. Jerry Whelchel and Rob MacCachren, the two fastest drivers of the morning, will have to make their way to through three rows of Pro-2's in order to make it to the front.
Jeremy McGrath will no longer be driving the MONSTER ENERGY Pro 4 of Johnny Greaves due to sponsor conflicts. Johnny Greaves is one of BFGoodrich's premier drivers and McGrath runs on Toyos. Unfortunatly due to previous contracts McGrath was forced to back out of racing the Pro 4.
Johnny Greaves is actually in the drivers seat of his Pro 4, CORR mandates that the driver of record must take the green flag and then they are able to switch drivers. This is the only way possible for Johnny Greaves to continue earning points.

Dan VandenHuevel, Jeremy McGrath, and Rob MacCachren to Take Over Driving Duties for Hurt Greaves & Menzies
10:45 AM UPDATE - Due to the severity of crashes in yesterday's Round 9 of racing action MONSTER'S Johnny Greaves and Menzies Motorsports Bryce Menzies will not be racing in todays main events. CORR Officials will allow them both to take the green flag and then they will have relief drivers taking over their duties.
The MONSTER ENERGY/ Forest County Potowatomi Greaves Motorsports team will be driving the spare Traxxas Tires Pro 4 for Round 10 of Pro 4 racing. Johnny will be behind the wheel at the start of the race and MONSTER'S Jeremy McGrath will take over the driving duties. McGrath has been behind the wheel of a Pro 4 a few times in his CORR career.
