Lake Forest, CA (August 14, 2008) – Carl Renezeder hopes to carry some positive momentum into rounds nine and ten of the CORR season at the LA Fairplex in Pomona, California this weekend. The teams visit the facility for the third and final time this Saturday and Sunday, and Renezeder is hoping to follow up his three wins in Chula Vista just a few weeks ago with a few more top finishes.
“It’s hard to believe that we’re already into the second half of the season,” commented Renezeder. “The three wins in four races at the last event have put us in a great position in points in both the Pro-4 and Pro-2 divisions. We need to continue to focus on one race at a time and keep bringing home the hardware. We’re definitely shooting for two championships this season.”
The events at the Fairplex run a bit differently than other locations because of noise ordinances, so the trucks won’t see the track until the Saturday morning qualifying session. Each driver will have eight laps to put down their best time, and the main event will be lined up according to the results of that single session. With qualifying points on the line, teams will have to go back to their notes from the last two races to determine their trucks’ set-ups.
“I feel like we have a lot of great notes from earlier in the season to rely on,” explained Renezeder. “We won the opening two rounds here in Pro-4 and have been on the podium here in the Pro-2, so we’re pretty confident with our set-up straight off the trailer.”
Renezeder will run both his Lucas Oil/Skyjacker Pro-4 and his Lucas Oil Pro-2 on both days of competition. As defending champion in the Pro-4 division, he is also the current points leader by a slim margin. He’s a two-time champion of the Pro-2 division and currently sits in second place behind points leader, Rob MacCachren.
