9:30 AM UPDATE –Due to the tight schedule CORR is running today all teams will have an 8 lap Practice/ Qualifyer going into Round 9 today in Pomona, California. Mike Oberg rolled onto the track in the first heat of qualifying and crashed hard in the whoop section sending parts flying everywhere. As soon as the track crew cleared him off the track Mark Shoaff driving the #33 Pro 2 repeated Obergs performance. With only four and a half hours until opening ceremonies it will take a miracle for these two to make it back to the track in time for Round 9 of Championship Off Road Racing.
Racers are having a tough time keeping their trucks on the track this morning, Adrian Cenni just flew over teh wall in Turn 3 and got hung up on the k-rail.
DIRTnewz staffers spoke with Jones Motorsports crew member Jimmy Hook who informed us that Pro 2 driver Jesse Jones is at home with Walking Pneumonia. Unfortunately Jones will not be able to make it to the track for this weekends racing action.

Bryce Menzies will be debuting his brand new Menzies Motorsports Pro 2 this weekend. Menzies captured the Single Buggy championship last year and moved into the Pro Lite class this year. Bryce captured his first ever Pro Lite in Chula Vista, California and is ready to make his way to the track in his Pro 2. DIRTnewz staff spoke with Bryce this morning and he mentioned," I'm excited to be out here in the Pro 2 class, having Rob (MacCachren) as a teammate has given me the chance to learn so much moving into this class. I'm going to finish the season and get some seat time and get ready for 2009."
