October 16-18, 2009

SURPRISE, AZ – (October 20, 2009) -- Team General Tire was well represented on the podium in an outstanding showing in hundred-degree heat at the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series event at Speedworld Off-Road Park October 17-18.

On Saturday, Carl Renezeder took the Unlimited 4 win, and followed that up with second place in Unlimited 2. He fought a fuel pressure issue with the Unlimited 4, but was able to finish 2nd on Sunday. His showing was enough to keep him at the top in the points standings going into the season’s final event at Primm November 14-15.

In other LOORRS action, John Fitzgerald swept the limited buggy class, and Kevin Probst battled strong Unlimited 2 competition on Sunday to finish second.

“This was just an outstanding weekend for Team GT,” said Tony Talbert, product manager, light trucks, General Tire. “Our drivers are really going the distance, and getting us onto the podium. We couldn’t be prouder of Carl, John, Kevin and all our drivers for their awesome effort this weekend.”

“We had a great weekend,” Renezeder said. “The races were so close, but the trucks were like rocketships out there and they hooked up like mad!”

General Tire is again ‘unleashing the fury’ in off-road performance for 2009, with the new Grabber Short Course tire, the Grabber SC, designed in size 35x12.50R17 for Unlimited 2 and Unlimited 4 drivers. Engineered with a tough, three-ply Duragen™-reinforced body construction to stand up to the rigors of off-road conditions, the Grabber SC features a newly-developed competition-specific tread compound. In addition, the Grabber name and General Tire logo are prominently featured on the sidewall in red and white letters.

The Grabber SC is the sister tire to the Grabber desert tire designed in size 37x12.50R17 for class 8 and trophy truck/trick truck; and 35x12.50R17 for class 1, 6, 7, 7 S, stock mini and Protruck.

General Tire also has a complete line of Grabber tires for the passenger and light truck market, including the Grabber HTS, which delivers the perfect synergy of comfort, durability and performance; the Grabber UHP, which sets a whole new standard in performance and ride quality for SUVs, light trucks and crossover vehicles; and Grabber AT2, designed for aggressive all-terrain traction in all weather conditions.
