FT. WORTH, TEXAS (May 20, 2009) The Rockstar Makita Team LeDuc takes home four podium finishes at the opening weekend of The Off Road Racing Series (TORC) this past weekend. The eight event race series began with a bang on May 14 and 15 in Ft. Worth, Texas, starting off with Todd LeDuc finishing third Friday evening in the Pro 2WD class after fending off Traxxas’s Mark Jenkins and passing Rob MacCachren in the final laps. Kyle LeDuc was not so lucky in his Leatt Brace/Rockstar sponsored Pro Lite ride. After starting on the pole position, Kyle received a flat rear tire on the first lap causing him to pull into the hot pits, loosing valuable lap time. Both Curt and Kyle LeDuc unleashed their Pro 4x4 trucks in the final 20 lap race of the night. Although Kyle started in the number 2 position, it was Curt who clenched the number 2 spot on the podium with Kyle finishing in a close fourth place.

Day two of this mud-flying, truck flipping, action packed weekend the races were even more intense as fierce thunderstorms soaked the track at Texas Motor Speedway. The race track had turned into a mud lake, leaving the TORC officials with a difficult decision to cancel practice, and begin competition as soon as the track could be prepared. After six hours of track prep and over 5,000 race fans in the stands, Pro Lites were first to slip out onto the track Saturday night, with Kyle LeDuc starting at the very back of the pack. By the time the checkered flag was waved, Kyle had worked his way behind leader Casey Currie to capture second place. Brother, and Rockstar Makita teammate Todd LeDuc fought a close battle in the Pro 2WD class with Jeremy McGrath for third place, but narrowly finished fourth despite having the second fastest lap time of the race. “I couldn’t get into my groove until half way through the race” said Todd, “I am really pleased to have salvaged valuable points this weekend, and can’t wait to race next in Perris.”

In the Pro 4x4 class, Curt LeDuc was off to a strong start battling for third place on lap seven when he blew a motor and was forced to pull off. Kyle started on the pole position and led the pack for 16 laps before dropping to third place after constantly fending off Friday’s winner Rick Huseman. The race was not so clean between the mud flying and Kyle and Rick constantly using their trucks to muscle each other around, but the fans loved it. Kyle not only took home the third place trophy, but also the ‘Oakley Bomb Run Award’ for having the fastest lap time of the race.

The LeDuc team will head to the west coast to compete in the second scheduled TORC Series event in Perris, Ca, May 29 and 30. In addition to Rockstar Energy Drink, Makita Industrial Power Tools, Ford Trucks and Toyo Tires, the team is sponsored by Simpson, K&N Air Filters, KC Hilites, Leatt Brace, Ringers Gloves, Automatic Transmission Design (ATD), MSD Ignitions, and Dragon Optics.
