“Rocketman Launches Bid for FCP Chairman’s Cup Win”
CRANDON, Wis. – Dan “Rocketman” Baudoux, Hemlock, Mich., has officially registered first for entry into the 16th annual Forest County Potawatomi Chairman’s Cup race. The Chairman’s Cup race is one of the feature events at the upcoming June 20-21 Traxxas Off-Road Championship Series presented by AMSOIL (TORC) Brush Run Races at Crandon International Off-Road Raceway.
Baudoux pilots a TORC PRO 2WD race machine sponsored by the Mole Lake Casino, Miller Lite and other key sponsors. Baudoux is a long-time off-road racing veteran that has won numerous Series and World Championships over a stellar career in Midwest off-road racing circles. He has moved up to PRO division racing this season, although Baudoux has competed against PRO drivers in previous Cup races.
The first TORC PRO 4x4 entry was made by champion driver Johnny Greaves. The Abrams, Wis., native is the celebrated racer driving the Monster Energy BFG Forest County Potawatomi Toyota. Greaves is also a two-time winner of the famous Cup.
His stable-mate, Moto-X super star turned TORC racer Jeremy McGrath, was the runner-up to Baudoux’s PRO 2WD entry. McGrath drives the Monster Energy BFG Forest County Potawatomi 2WD Toyota pickup for Greaves Motorsports. Closing date for entries is June 11.
The 16th annual FCP Chairman’s Cup race is expected to be the most exciting and biggest race of them all. TORC features the top professional off-road racers in the country and they will all be putting it on the line in Crandon. Top names like Baudoux, Douglas, Johnson, McGrath, Barlow, Oberg, Vanden Heuvel, Cenni and others will be seeking to win their first FCP Cup.
The race will feature a bevy of previous Cup Champions including Scott Taylor, 2-time winners Greaves and Curt “the Duke of Wisconsin” LeDuc, and 3-time winner Rob MacCachren.
With all that off-road super star talent, Crandon Raceway has kept ticket prices at $30 for the weekend of Brush Run racing, while camping prices are just $30 as well.
In honor of the 40th anniversary at the track, Crandon will give-away $1,000 in “Fan Appreciation” cash to one lucky spectator. The drawing will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 20. Each fan purchasing a ticket Saturday morning receives an entry.
“Congratulations to Dan Baudoux and his Mole Lake Casino race team,” said Cliff Flannery, president, Crandon Raceway. “We look forward to seeing Dan in Crandon, along with all the other top guns in the sport for our June race weekend” he said.
