Jesse Jones captures Overall and SCORE Trophy-Truck victory; Schwarz tops Class 1 at SCORE Las Vegas Terrible’s Primm 300

McNeil, K. Smith, Caspino, Chamlee, Moss, Lopez, also class winners
At Round 4 of the five-race 2010 SCORE Desert Series

PRIMM, Nev.—Weaving his way through the field and hitting the hammer on the final lap, Jesse Jones jumped over a star-studded field of 30 SCORE Trophy-Trucks Saturday to capture the overall and SCORE Trophy-Truck victory at the 15th Annual SCORE Las Vegas Terrible’s Primm 300 desert race.
Coming from behind, Jones won his second race of the 2010 SCORE season and his second career SCORE Trophy-Truck race win, rambling his No. 76 Ford F-150 SCORE Trophy-Truck to a adjusted winning time of 4 hours 46 minutes, 39 seconds while averaging 57.44 mile per hour over 274.4-miles over the four laps of rugged, rock-strewn Southern Nevada desert course of 68.6 miles each in Primm, Nev., 45 miles south of Las Vegas.

The situation was looking grim for MasterCraft Racing coming into SCORE International's Terrible’s Primm. MasterCraft Safety CEO and race team owner, Robbie Pierce, was still busted up from a horrific short course accident a month prior and racing legend, Rob MacCachren, was arbitrarily disqualified by the Nevada Bureau of Land Management for allegedly pre-running a closed (yet unmarked) race course. Given the dire circumstances, most race teams would have conceded defeat before the green flag had even dropped. The Rockstar Energy Drink / MasterCraft Racing Team has a reputation for never shying away from a challenge and that reputation was further solidified this weekend in Primm.

Just one month after a spectacular crash behind the wheel of his Pro 2 Unlimited truck in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORS) at Glen Helen Raceway, Robbie Pierce climbed back behind the wheel of the No. 30 SCORE Trophy Truck for the Terrible's Primm 300 race. Starting the competition in the fifth position, Pierce was just three weeks out of the hospital and recovering from two broken collarbones and a nasty gash on his knee requiring more than 40 stitches.

Victory at Primm 300 Clinches Title in First Full Year of Competition

PRIMM, Nevada, September 13, 2010 – Just 15 months ago, Joe Bacal and Lexus surprised the off-road racing establishment with a trouble-free run to victory in the team’s very first race at the 2009 Baja 500. Since that first success, the Cancer Treatment Centers of America-sponsored team has enjoyed an unbroken streak of wins and podium finishes that on Saturday culminated in their first off-road championship with a dominant Stock Full-class win at the SCORE Terrible’s Las Vegas Primm 300.

Rob MacCachren is "Robbed" Again at the SCORE Primm 300

The Greek philosopher Plato once said, “One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.” It would seem as though more profound words have never been spoken as this quote still holds true almost 2,500 years later.

On Wednesday, September 8th, 2010 the Bureau of Land Management ("BLM") handed down the unprecedented and arbitrary action of disqualifying Rob MacCachren from this weekend's Terrible's Primm 300 race for engaging in limited testing of the SCORE Trophy Truck No. 20 in the dry lake bed area of Jean, Nevada. There is no question that Rob MacCachren was not engaged in pre-running or reconnaissance of the course. Rob was merely doing what racers have always done for years, without this type of sanction or consequence.

Jesse James' new Geiser built Trophy Truck will be making its debut at the SCORE, Terribles, Primm 300 Sept. 10 -12, 2010. The new truck still carries the familiar #54 and the Stuka Dive Bomber body panels that only needed slight mods to fit the Geiser chassis. "Jesse gave me a list of demands that we had to follow on this truck" said builder Rick Geiser, " It had to have his trick spiderweb wheels and BFG tires, it had to have the stuka body panels and it had to have King Shocks, oh and it has to be loud!" The loud part comes from the Brodix 500 cubic inch Chevy engine that belts out 865 angry horses. The shocks are a wicked looking set of gold and black Kings. The race will give Jesse a chance to get comfortable in the new truck before the Baja 1000 and to do some testing with the new King 4.5 inch shock. It would not be the first time a guy named Jesse won in a Geiser, right out of the box, but the goal is to just do well and get the truck in the dirt at race speeds. If the sound of the Brodix motor or the bling of the King Shocks doesn't get your attention, the logo on the door surely will. That's just Jesse being Jesse

SCORE TROPHY-TRUCK
JESSE JONES, No. 76 (First in class and first overall. Jones drove all four laps.) This is great. We had a really great day. We had a flat on lap two and we lost a driveline. It was just dusty and we were fighting our way through the slower traffic. You’re so anxious to go but you know you better not do that because three guys will go by you when you’re changing your tire. But you just want to go. The truck ran well. We passed 12 trucks physically so we started 15th and finished third on the road. Andy (McMillin, No. 31) had me by one (minute) on the last lap and I stepped it up. Andy was down to me by four minutes at the last pit when he pulled in. Oh, man, maybe we’ll get some points out of this thing!

LOS ANGELES—With just a total of 65 points separating the top 20 overall point leaders in the 2010 SCORE Desert Series, the battles in several individual classes for cars and trucks are even tighter heading into next week’s 15th Annual SCORE Las Vegas Terrible’s Primm 300 desert race. Round 4 of the five-race 2010 SCORE Desert Series will be held Sept. 10-12 in Primm, Nev.

While November’s season-ending 43rd Annual Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 race in Mexico will finalize the individual class and overall point champions for the 37th year of the world’s foremost desert racing series, the SCORE Las Vegas Terrible’s Primm 300 will surely determine the contenders for this year’s titles.
