Media Crew: Tim Sanchez aka "Dirty"

Adventure seeker and desert racer, Tim Sanchez, experienced the first taste of high-speed adrenaline in the 1960’s as a youngster. Together, he shared the passion of Baja adventure travel with his father beginning at 7-years old. Tim’s love affair with the majestic land known as “Baja” is four decades in the making.

Some 40 years later, after nearly a half million Baja adventure miles, Tim’s dream of sharing his passion of off road adventure came to life. In 2005, he was joined by his 20-year old daughter, Brittany,where the father/daughter duo raced the SCORE Baja 1000 together in the highly competitive Baja Bug class. They crossed the line over 25 hourslater, exiting the race car,beaten and battered, but smiling ear-to-ear. The Baja Peninsula has long been considered a second-home for the California native who was born to a Mexican father and an Irish mother.

Media Crew: Kevin Ward - World Class Cinematographer

Kevin Ward has raced in the legendary SCORE Baja 1000, a grueling 1,000-mile off-road dash through the tortuous desert terrain of Mexico. He even won his class. On a motorcycle. And like the Baja 1000, his route to becoming a director of photography has been a circuitous journey.

With such hobbies as racing motorcycles and cars, Ward began his career as a stunt driver. Cameras didn’t catch his eye until he was in Utah on the production of a TV movie. Ward, also an avid rock and ice climber, was the stunt rigger. After the camera platforms and safety systems were set on a rock face, the camera operators were hit with sudden cowardice. In repels Ward, and, with some guidance by radio, he got the shot. In 1991, while working his way up the camera department ranks, Ward caught a break while doubling for NASCAR driver Rusty Wallace in a Winston Cup car. Dana Christiaansen was shooting, and after some lunchtime schmoozing by Ward, the DP took him on as a 1st AC. Ward then climbed the ladder much faster, notching his first feature credit as a director of photography in 1995 with the straight-to-video title Taken Alive. To date, he is proudest of Dust to Glory (2005), a documentary directed by Dana Brown that chronicles the Baja 1000 and its mythos.

Ward may very well have a premix of gasoline and adrenaline coursing through his veins. Just look at the subjects he’s shot since Dust to Glory: BF Goodrich and Mitsubishi off-road racing, race car drifting, ATVs, motorcycles, Navy insertion boats with .50-caliber machine guns blazing and Air Force Predator drones.

Media Crew: Jimmy Lee Cook aka "Sinister"

As the founder and CEO of Sinister Film Productions, Jimmy is an accomplished videographer, who has worked as a Helicopter Wescam camera operator, supplying Off-road racing action footage to a variety of different films and T.V. shows such as “Dust 2 Glory”, “Chasing Baja”, “Off-Road USA”, and “Stunt Junkies” as well as the SCORE International & CORR off-road races for Speed and Discovery Channel, just to name a few. He was also an Xtremey award winner for “Best off-road truck video” of 2008 for the film “Riviera Racing 3 “Above the Law”. As the sole member of the film crew for the Riviera Racing team, Jimmy has logged countless days and hours of traveling, filming, and flying in Baja to capture some of the best cinematography images ever seen.

Media Crew: Brittany Westhoff aka "Baja Brit"

Born to a London, England lady and a American Mexican man, Brittany is the only one lady in this group of 30 riders, chase and papparrazzi’s. She is a desert racer first and is an extremely well-versed Baja adventurer. She began playing the Baja Peninsula when she was only 6-years old and she’s not stopped since. From the border to Cabo, this young 25-year old has seen it all on the Baja Peninsula. Brittany is married and resides in the high desert whereshe is the Operations Manager for Rock On Motorsports Management, Inc.,as well as the Editor in Chief for the widely popular off road motorsports website, DIRTnewz.com. She’s a veteran of the SCORE Baja 1000 and Baja 500 and recentlycompleted the 2010 MINT 400 in her 1600 carwith husband, Joey Westhoff. As an accomplished videographer, photographer and journalist she’s one person you want to have on your side when you cross the border.

Media Crew: Ian Beaman

Ian’s real job is a master mechanic/fabricator for a heavy equipment / crane operation located in the Las Vegas mecca of construction. He rides motorcycles, ATV’s and is Rob MacCachren's primary fabricator/mechanic on MacCachren’s 1600 race car. Ian is also the voice behind the headset for MacCachren during his 20 year career as a short course champion. He is a master “McGyver” mechanic and a seasoned Baja adventure seeker. His knowledge of remote locales, as well as the many important points of interest down Mexico Hwy 1 is reknown to many. During the past two decades, Ian has been an integral part of providing chase support up and down the peninsula for Rob MacCachren.
