The Traxxas TORC Series presented by AMSOIL announced today that they will be turning up the heat on 2009's broadcast of their fast paced, high action off road truck series. What better person for the task than the fastest woman on record in a Nitro Nostalgia Funny Car, Leah Pruett. "Leah is not only a pretty face, but she has vast knowledge and experience in various types of motorsports so I have a lot of confidence that she will add to the show." stated Mitch Covington of TORC. "We really loved Leah's TV show "Funny Girl" and decided that she has what takes to light-up our pit reporting on ESPN." Sacramento, CA (June 29, 2009) - Nostalgia Funny Car driver Leah Pruett-LeDuc became the first person in history to reach 250 mph in a Nostalgia Funny Car. The record breaking run took place at Sacramento Raceway's 33rd Annual Nitro Nite of Fire on Saturday, where she posted a 6.07 et at 250.37 mph in round one eliminations. LAKE ELSINORE, Ca – (July 1, 2009) -- Team General Tire added additional wins to the record-books for the 2009 short-course racing season, as Carl Renezeder swept the series again, scoring a combined Unlimited 2 and Unlimited Open class wins at the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series event this past weekend at the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Complex. Adding to Renezeder’s success, General Tire-sponsored Sean Geiser took first place in the Limited Buggy Class, rounding out a solid weekend of wins for Team GT. |
