Laughlin, Nevada (January 13, 2006)

Teams lined up in front of the BFGoodrich Motorsports tractor-trailer late this afternoon to compete in the SCORE Laughlin Desert Pit Crew Challenge. BFGoodrich Motorsports Manager Frank DeAngelo was on hand with his complete crew of top notch off road support crew providing a standard pit zone used in the off road racing world.

First off the starting line was the open wheel class cars vying for the $5,000 dollar class purse. Topping all teams was the #1608 crew out of sunny Coronado, California, Nick Tiedemann. Driving the Jimco-built VW, the Tiedemann crew claimed the top prize money after reeling off a time of 48.93 seconds. They beat the Class 5 Unlimited team of Michelle Bruckmann by a mere second. Bruckmann’s team scored a 49.81 to take home the $1,500 dollar 2nd place prize.

The Truck Division was captured by Todd Wylie’s AZ Land Class 8 truck team who took top honors after scoring 59.66 seconds. Wylie faced fierce competition from Monster Energy Drink / Pflueger Racing and Fabtech / Toyo Tires PCI Racing crews. Pflueger’s team set down a time of 60.32 to secure second place over PCI Racing’s Scott Steinberger.

The always entertaining Pit Crew Showdown was no different this year as thousands of spectators filled the stands in the late afternoon watching the nation’s top off road team’s battle out for the top crown of SCORE’s Laughlin Desert Challenge – Pit Crew Showdown.
