June 30, 2010 - A Podium and Too Much Water FULL STORY>>
Lemke Off-Road Racing Team headed to Crandon after coming off a big win on Sunday in Antigo. We were excited knowing we can run with the big boys and ready to show them we could do it again.
Coming into Crandon 5th in the point’s race placed us on the starting line in 8th. Not too bad of a spot for the thrilling land-rush start. The green flag flew and we were off, as 20 cars came into the first corner and we were all scrambling for position I was tapped in the rear by a fellow racer and pushed sideways into a skid. I quickly struggled to regain composure and straighten the car out; finally I managed to get control.
I still ended up coming out of the start in 5th position and quickly worked my way to 3rd following Greg Stingle and Jeff Virnig of which it stayed that way to the competition yellow. When the green flag flew for the second half of the race Greg, Jeff and I quickly broke away from the rest of the pack. I had a few opportunities to dip on the inside of Jeff in the 166 car but did not press too hard to make the pass. I felt I was slightly faster than him but did not want to take the chance of using him as an outside rail that may potentially take both of us off the podium. Several times I had a good run on him and pulled up alongside of him but was never able to complete the pass and make it stick. Finally in the gravel pit on the white flag lap he went tight on the inside, which seemed like he was protecting it, and I went slightly outside of him, got some great traction with my BFG’s and had the run on him that I had been looking for, I made the pass and held onto second at the checkered flag.
Lemke Off-Road Racing Team headed to Antigo for the TORC season opener and after attending the MORR test session at Crandon in May we felt that we had potential to run up front.
On Saturday we were assigned the starting position of 6th out of a strong field of 17 angry light buggies. Not a bad position to draw at all considering we were starting two by two with a rolling start. Our plan was to pass a few cars in the first lap and settle in on at least a podium position before the competition yellow at midpoint of the race and we did just that.
May 17, 2010 - Lemke tests in Crandon, Wisconsin
DIRTnewz sponsored light buggy racer Todd Lemke headed to Crandon Offroad Raceway this morning for the first test session of the 2010 season. Stay tuned for a full report from Lemke Racing as the test session concludes this afternoon.
Our main focus before the second Bark River was to try and figure out why we were continually wreck transaxles. We thought we could do well with the rest of the pack but it was difficult when we were continually loosing either a single gear or the whole thing all together. We made a significant change to the transaxle, for the past 10 years we had been running the “new” style transaxle and we decided to switch to the “old” style. There are several differences between the two and after talking to many people the consensus was that neither of them was made for racing but the older one was a little better.
July 28, 2009 - Fun Track, More Bad Luck FULL STORY>>
Heading into Oshkosh my team and I finally thought we had everything figured out on the new car except the continual transaxle failures we were experiencing. We made a few suspension adjustments, put some new BFGoodrich tires on and changed the groove in preparation for some good night racing on a short and technical clay track.
Being 13th in the points and a two-by-two rolling start meant we would be deep in the pack when the green flag flew Friday night. With this type of track it is not such a great disadvantage as it is with the larger wide open tracks and the start was not as important, there are plenty of spots on the track and laps to make up positions. Also for the first time in our class they were going to attempt the competition yellow. Half way through the race they would throw the yellow and bunch the field back-up before finishing the race under green.
July 20, 2009 - Lemke Racing Under the Lights this weekend!! FULL STORY>>
Looking for something to do this weekend? How about watching some Off-Road Racing at a local facility in the evening? It does not mess up your day plans, close to home (for most), covered grandstands and the chance to cheer me on as I attempt to recover from a slow start of the 2009 season. Gates open at 3:00 and racing starts at 6:00, see ya there.

July 16, 2009 - Lemke Happier with the New Car
The weeks before Bark River my brother and I tore the front end of the car apart including the steering linkage in search of the feedback I was getting in the steering wheel. We were almost out of ideas when the source of the problem appeared to have been diagnosed. A couple of inner bushings on the lower control arms had worked their way out of position and rendered themselves ineffective. We replaced the bushings and beefed up the steering linkage in hopes to eliminate the problem. After a few test runs I was satisfied that we had solved the problem. FULL STORY>>

June 25, 2009 - TORC at Crandon International Offroad
After a long winter it did not seem like the first race in the Midwest TORC Series would ever get here. On December 12th Curt Gerald, my brother Nick Lemke and I started building a new GRE chassis. In the beginning we worked on it at Curt’s shop in Appleton, WI, but once the main skeleton of the chassis was completed we moved it to the Lemke Off-Road Racing shop in Sobieski. My brother and I only worked on it one night a week and a few days on the weekends here and there. We did not want it to become a burden on our families or ourselves, so we tried to keep the time spent on it to a minimum. Soon May rolled around and there was still a lot of work to be done before the big opener on June 20th and we wanted to allow some time for testing. Finally on June 12th, with borrowed FOX shocks on the rear from Craig Paitl, it was completed enough to run down my driveway a dozen times and take testing the following day. FULL STORY>>
