Travis Roffler Bids Farewell to Toyo Tires

Stunning news vibrated the off road industry in the past few days as one of the leaders in the tire industry hastily bids farewell to Toyo Tires. Only eighteen months ago, Toyo Tires began developing its off-road motorsports program making history for a tire company, that only introduced its Open Country M/T at the 2003 SEMA Show.
Enter Mr. Travis Roffler, Director of Marketing for Toyo Tires.
Not long after entering the fray, the successful business executive planted himself directly in the midst of the off road tire battle. Roffler positioned Toyo Tires throughout the entire off road racing market, becoming deeply rooted in CORR, UROC, Best in the Desert and SCORE International.
In their first year of competitive off road desert racing, Toyo Tires sponsored Jesse Jones, delivered the Japanese owned company their first-ever Trophy Truck championship on Toyo Tires rubber, by capturing the class championship in the Best in the Desert Series.
In the midst of that first championship, Roffler and Toyo Tires signed a multi-year deal with NASCAR team owner/driver, Robby Gordon, who races in deserts throughout the world. Most recently, Gordon raced his Toyo Tires Hummer H3 at the Best in the Desert Parker 425 and beat the competition hands down and didn’t have a single tire failure over the distance of the entire race.
Roffler was recently featured in Advanstar’s Off Road Business magazine touted “as the executive who orchestrated Toyo Tires sudden emergence in the world of off-road competition.”
Roffler has led a dedicated team of passionate hard charging personnel over the past eighteen months in Toyo Tires quest for winning results in the desert, rocks and dirt tracks of America, which was no easy feat. Facing difficult challenges and the toughest competition, he succeeded in both winning events and series championships in his first full year of head-to-head competition. And he successfully branded Toyo Tires within the off road industry.
This announcement comes on the heels of Round 2 of the Tecate SCORE Desert Series, which begins in San Felipe, Baja California in less than two weeks. Toyo Tires sponsored drivers Jesse Jones, John Marking, Scott Steinberger, Andy McMillin and several others will be charging their Toyo Tires sponsored trophy trucks towards the finish line in hope of a Toyo Tires first ever victory in Baja, California.
Toyo Tires remains fully committed to a full season of anticipated championship wins throughout the off road racing industry in 2006. Watch for Toyo Tires to continue the tradition of winning in the dirt, set in motion by one of the industry’s best, Travis Roffler.
