Team Lovell Invades Europe - Brothers Split Forces for Multiple Events

Lovell Racing, like rockcrawling, is popping up at new locations across the globe. While teams from Australia, Japan, and Mexico are heading to the US to compete, Brad Lovell is focusing on a different venue – Chambon-sur-Lac, France. The small town in the foothills of the Alps will host the 10th annual Chambon sur Jeep, April 28th & 29th. The event consists of a manmade rockcrawl near the center of the village and trail rides in the adjacent forests. Last year, the gathering attracted 350 entrants from across Europe.

While the FABTECH Ford Ranger will not make the trip, Brad will be driving a proven champion and piece of rockcrawling history. The long retired RCAA Championship Currie Fire Ant was purchased by the event promoters and serves as a fine example for other French builders to follow. Brad will captain the vehicle in an effort to show the French the true limits of the sport.

“I can’t wait to get over there and show these guys how to crawl,” comments Brad, “I have no doubt they understand other types of terrain but I hope to show them a thing or two about extreme rockcrawling.” The team wishes to thank Jeepaoc, Alloy USA, and several private parties for making this event possible.

The trip overseas is a logistical challenge for the team given their already full schedule. Only hours before departure, Brad will return from pit crew duty at the NASCAR Grand National Alhpatrade.com 150 in Phoenix, AZ where he will serve on the #09 RE/MAX Advantage Team of Bruce Betts.

While Brad is on this two week sojourn, Roger will continue the team’s domestic efforts at the XRRA rock race in Cortez CO, May 5th. The team is in the process on fine tuning the Alloy USA racer and watching video from the last race. Roger adds, “Slow is fast, but we can be faster.” Brad will return just in time to join Roger at the UROC season opener May 12th, in Phoenix, AZ.
