Monster Energy Rock Crawler/Rock Racer Shannon Campbell Wins W.E. Rock East Event In Tennessee

Campbell and his Monster-backed rock crawling moon buggy tops at Jellico, Tenn., W.E. Rock East event – and then some!

CARLSBAD, Calif., (June 14, 2007) – Monster Energy rock crawling/rock racing competitor Shannon Campbell took it to the competition at the W.E. Rock crawling event in Jellico, Tenn., this past weekend, winning the overall title – then sending the fans into a frenzy by pulling off a huge after-the-fact move to boot!

“That last move was to put the crowd over the top,” said Campbell. “They were already pumped up with us winning, but I went for it anyway – even though I didn’t have to – and ended up pulling it off.”

Campbell, having already wrapped up the overall win, went for it in this insane section of the track set aside for bonus points – launching out of a trench and nose-diving into a mud hole, only to save it by wheelie’ing out and somehow managing to land his moon buggy on all fours.

Prior to the grand finale for the W.E. Rock fans, Monster’s Campbell had wrapped up the overall win and still had five-and-a-half minutes to spare. “We led on all four courses after Friday and Saturday, so it was a really good weekend for us,” said Campbell.

The next event for Campbell and Monster on the XRRA Rock Racing schedule is the June 16th Cortez (Colo.) competition.
