Monster Energy’s Shannon Campbell Places 7th @ Xtreme Rock Racing Association’s Moab, Utah, Event
Campbell and his Monster-backed rock racing moon buggy slip up a bit in the rock sections at Round One of the 2008 XRRA Series
CORONA, Ca – Monster Energy rock crawling/rock racing competitor Shannon Campbell overcame some issues and managed to put his rock racing moon buggy in the top ten of the Xtreme Rock Racing Association’s (XRRA) second round of action in Moab, Utah, placing 7th on Saturday.
The defending champion at the Moab XRRA event, Campbell was on it down the straights this past weekend at Moab, recording the fastest times of the pack. But when his vultures moon buggy got to the rock sections, where Campbell normally dominates, the set up he had going that won him the “King of the Hammers” race in February wash’t working for Moab and he ran into some problems.
“It wanted to tip over on us,” said Campbell on piloting his moon buggy through the rock sections at Moab. “We ended up taking the sway bar off for the last two sections and it made a huge difference on the fast and challenging courses. We were able to stay in the top ten (7th) and came away with some points heading into Albuquerque (N.M., May 3rd).”
The next event for Campbell and Monster Energy vultures Moon Buggy is the opening round of the 2008 WE Rock Series (April 11-13) in Perris, Ca.
