Rock Runner Racing’s Jason Paule Returns to Professional Rockcrawling
Tucson, Arizona April 16, 2009 - The 2008 rockcrawling season was a chaotic one for Rock Runner Racing’s Jason Paule. After selling his legendary Twisted Customs Matrix buggy, Paule spent the season as a hired gun driving and spotting for friends and teammates. For 2009 he is back in WE Rock’s Unlimited Class at the helm of his new Twisted Customs CTS buggy, boasting sixty degrees of steering at each end with Spidertrax Spider9 axles. Proving that he is as skilled and competitive as ever, Paule and spotter Mark Berger placed second in the WE Rock Western Nationals season opener in Tucson, Arizona.
“The new Twisted Customs buggy works great,” Paule commented. “The amount of turning is insane; I don’t think that I’ll ever hit another cone again.” In addition to the Spider9 axles, Paule’s new competition vehicle is equipped with Radflo bypass air shocks, True Hi9 third members with Detroit Lockers, and Mastercraft seats. Rolling stock consists of 39” BFGoodrich Krawlers mounted on Trailready forged aluminum beadlocked rims.
The vehicle configuration is very similar to Paule’s Rock Runner Racing teammates, except for the use of 39” tall tires and the rear steering axle. Brian Errea and Joachim Schwiesow placed fifth in the ultra-competitive Pro Modified class at the Tucson WE Rock event in their trusty Twisted Customs YJ buggy. “We tend to finish better on natural terrain,” driver Brian Errea confessed. “We are really excited to return to Cedar City for the next event, particularly since we won there last season.
In addition to thousands of spectators, Pirate4x4.com provided real-time coverage of the WE Rock event for tens of thousands of viewers on the internet. Rock Runner Racing went straight from Tucson to Moab for the famous Easter Jeep Safari before returning to their home base in South Dakota to prepare for WE Rock’s next Western Nationals event.
